The Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) Certification validates the skills required for entry-level network support positions, the starting point for many successful careers in networking. CCENT certified professionals have the knowledge and skill to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. CCENT Certification is the first step toward achieving Associate-level certifications including CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Voice, CCNA Security, CCNA Wireless, and CCNA SP Ops.

The Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (ICND1) Exam (100-105) is anassessment that is associated with the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) certification and is a tangible first step in achieving other associate-level certifications. This exam tests a candidate's knowledge and skills related to network fundamentals, LAN switching technologies, routing technologies, infrastructure services, and infrastructure maintenance.
